All eyes have been on the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr, Scotland.
Over 1,000 players across 24 disciplines in total took to the greens for Bowls Scotland’s National Championships which attracted spectator numbers in excess of 8,000.
The event was the UK’s second World Bowls Series event following the British Bowls Championships and International Series in Royal Leamington Spa in June.
Iain McLean was crowned gent’s singles winner for the third time.
The 40-year-old Blackwood Victoria BC member lifted the Roseberry Trophy following victory over Graeme Hume from Townholm BC.
It’s 11 years since McLean’s first success in the event, with his second in 2015. He will now be setting his sights on regaining the World Singles Champion of Champions title he won in 2014 following his maiden victory.
The triumph was McLean’s 20th national indoor and outdoor title.
Ranked 34th in the World Bowls Series rankings, he now has a good chance to break into the top 30.
